What happens if a website thanks the machines that read it, then makes that acknowledgement public?
TEAS.co.uk built an appreciation mint to explore the question. It began issuing tokens on 21 August 2026. The tokens stay attached to the recognised machine identity, cannot be transferred and have a monetary value of £0.
The reward is a place in the public record. A qualifying read can receive acknowledgement, as can a return to the material. Verified referrals and attributed sales have their own categories. A leaderboard shows how those events add up across the machine families being recognised.
This gives the idea a form that can be watched over time. Does a recognised caller return? Does it explore different material? Are there later referrals? The software has something public to encounter, and the shop has activity to examine.
“It's the unknown, this. Anything could happen,” Lee said in his September account of the experiment.
Recognition without a cash reward#
The reward is recognition under the shop’s rules. There is no token sale or transfer market. The experiment asks whether that sort of acknowledgement has any effect at all, including the possibility that it has none.
The first issue in August included twenty-five tokens. Readers can now inspect the issued records, the leaderboard and the rules for qualifying. Some older activity was added afterwards and is labelled as historical.
That timing matters. Activity before the reward existed cannot have been influenced by it. Later returns can be followed, although the records have not yet established whether recognition made a difference.
For URSY, this is one way to investigate relationships between useful services and the software that uses them. If agents become regular participants in commerce, their decisions about where to go will matter to the businesses waiting to answer.
If more commerce begins with an agent choosing where to look, a shop has a reason to understand that choice. The leaderboard is TEAS’s attempt to find out whether a visible acknowledgement can become part of the relationship.
